The Prophet


What is a prophet
But a ripple in time?
An emotion in the mind
Of a person affected,
By the will to do right
And warn of the future.
Prophecy is born in the heart
And attained through hardship.
In a state of adversity
Sometimes deep in a trance-
Comes the Universal consciousness 
With great respect for nature.
The foreseers of great change,
Enabling transformation
From what we are to what we must become.
People who cannot stop
Growing wiser from memories
And what compels remembrance
To save us from ourselves.
